Prior to his start at Griplock Systems, Erik Martinez worked as a video editor. The company he worked for would shoot and/or edit seminars, digitally remaster audio, and touch up images for local clients. But since 2009, Erik has been a steadfast Customer Service Representative for Griplock Systems, dedicated to the company and its customers.
The short and sweet description of Erik’s job is that he helps customers throughout the ordering process – sounds simple, right? There are times when a customer knows exactly what he/she wants, and Erik simply inputs the order and keeps the customer up-to-date on the fulfillment process. However, most of the time it’s not that easy.
Erik dives deep into what the customers’ needs are. (What does their project entail? What is being suspended? What is the weight? What connections are needed? Etc.) It’s at these times where Erik really shines, when he gets to work closely with the customer and engineering department to find the perfect solution for their unique project. And it’s this variety, along with his co-workers who all strive to provide the best service possible, that has been a motivating factor for Erik since he first started.
Another encouraging aspect for Erik is the comradery and almost family-like atmosphere of the Griplock office. One of his fondest memories is of his co-workers throwing him a baby shower right before his 1st daughter was born. He was touched by how everyone took time to celebrate the new life that was on its way amid a busy work day.
Outside of work, Erik is a casual fan of the Dodgers and Lakers and is inspired by family, friends, and a good movie (his favorites are the original Star Wars trilogy). He has a wife and 2 daughters at home whom he loves dearly, along with 3 cats – He has been called, “The Cat Whisperer.” He most enjoys reading, playing with his daughters, and taking the family to the beach.
